Vacation Bids.
My wonderful husband put in his bid for his vacation time for 2010. And didn't get it so no Alaska this year, or at least not when we orginally planned it. And since he wasn't prepared to put in a second bid he just didn't. Which means he won't be using any vacation time in 2010. He won't lose the time apparently he just will have that much more to use in 2011. So any vacation time we take he will have to line up trades for. In theory he could line up trades for when we wanted to go to Alaska but I don't know if he will, that would be a hassle to do two weeks of trades. Oh well we will just have to go to Alaska another time. No biggie.

Cold Cold Cold
I think the colder the weather gets around here the meaner and more stupid people become. So hopefully if this really is the case it doesn't get much colder. It's so early in winter and already we are getting into negative numbers. I think I live in one of the few places that you can spend weeks in triple digit numbers and weeks in negative numbers. The last few winters towards the mid to end of winter my husband and I have gone some where warm on vacation. This year are we going some where warm? No, we are going to Alaska. That's right Alaska. Which shouldn't be too bad but it is definately not warm and tropical. And we will get to visit family.
I have been rather lazy lately. I have slacked off in my exercising and I am lazy at work. Work is so so slow, you spend more time coming up with work to do than actually doing any work. Which I think at times is better and at times much worse then the summer. Where you have so much to do you never seem to have time to take a break or get off on time. I would like a happy middle ground enough work to stay busy but not be busy. But in this business that won't happen everything is seasonal.
My husband has been lazier too now that it's winter, we have ONE ROOM to finish remodeling to be through. One room, and he tore out the things that needs to be torn out there is only one more sheet of sheetrock that needs to go up. Then it's taping mudding, sanding, brushing, texturing, primer and painting. Then we lay down the new floor tiles and can sale this horrible house that I hate. Okay I know the house is nice, we gutted and remodeled the stupid thing. But I hate it because we gutted and remodeled it and I had to live in it and deal with it. And every time we are in a middle of a remodel my husband hurts himself. The bathroom remodel half way through my husband almost kills himself dirtbiking and ends up in ICU. We are doing the laundry room now. My husband broke his foot playing flag football, yes I said flag football. He has that boot off from his foot now. So now I am just waiting for him and my BIL to put up the last piece of sheetrock. The next house we buy will NOT be a complete gut remodel job. I refuse to go through it again. I am mean I know, he enjoys doing this kind of stuff. I do not enjoy living in it with two little boys.
Christmas is almost upon us. I am trying to avoid doing as much as I can for this Christmas season. I am just not motivated to spend lots of money on presents. So I am buying the bare minmum for the bare minmum of people. Tomorrow is the work's christmas lunch party. I have my secret santa gift already to give. We do questionaires to make it easier for whoever gets us to know what to buy. And we set a $10 limit. The girl I got said she wanted fat quarters or ammo.. Yeah I went the fat quarters route. I found some that were $1 a fat quarter and bought her 10 of them. Yeah I blew my budget in one stop. I don't quilt so I don't even know for sure is a buck a shot is a good deal or not. Then I made her a calligraphy word cloud with her name in the center and words describing her in the cloud. I matted it and framed it, so I went a bit over budget since I spent a couple bucks to buy the frame, but if you don't tell I won't tell. I owned all the other supplies so it didn't cost me much. Well except I had to buy a new calligraphy pen since my two year old some how got a hold of my old one and destroyed it. So sad. But I got three this time around so that's good.
We are mid afternoon here and we are up to a balmy 19 degrees which is much warmer then the 1 degree it was at 8:30 when I went to work. I know those who have it colder are jealous and those who are enjoying nice warm weather are jealous too. Haha yeah right. I just hope to get to go snowboarding soon to make up for having to deal with chilly weather.
